Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz

Torbreck, located in the Barossa Valley, has been a unique success story for owner/winemaker, Dave Powell, whose obsession with quality has really paid dividends. This 100% Shiraz, which has been aged for 12 months in old foudres, has been getting rave reviews since its first release in 2001. The nose is of sweet blackberry and cherry fruit. This wine is all about purity of fruit. It is mouth-filling and shows incredible sweet fruit concentration, no hard edges. Pure pleasure!

Robert Parker

"Deep garnet to purple colour. Invigorating nose of freshly crushed blackberries, eucalyptus, Chinese five spice, liquorice and black pepper. The palate is superbly balanced providing a medium+ level of velvety tannins and medium to high acidity. Very long peppery finish. Drink now to 2015. "

International Wine Cellar

"Inky ruby. Sexy dark berry and cherry compote on the nose, with subtle mocha and incense notes. Sweet blackberry and cherry-cola flavors pick up some dusty tannins with air. Pleasantly juicy and fresh, with clean finishing fruit and a late jolt of licorice. This became more floral and minerally with air while maintaining its seductively fruity personality."

Perfect Shiraz

Kevin Walsh - Sydney Australia. March 10

Buy as much of this wine as you can whenever you can. It's simply the perfect Shiraz.

Brilliant wine

Lar Veale (sourgrapes.ie). December 09

Kicks the pants off other wines in the same price bracket and miles better than many other more expensive Shirazes. Buy a few as you'll want to come back for this one.
