G 2005

Ultra ripe fruit that manages great depth and richness without loosing a very clear and precise underlying acidity. Serious oak underpins that dark blackcurrant and blackberry fruit and sweet spice. This has a long and glorious future ahead of it but with enough aeration in a decanter it can be approached now, just so long as it’s matched with rich meaty food. Emiliana's top wine.

Wine Spectator

"Impressively rich, with loads of blueberry compote, braised fig, graphite and roasted earth notes waiting to emerge fully from behind the wall of dark, spice-laden toast. There's great buried acidity and a long, grip-filled finish."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2006 GE is 30% Syrah, 30% Carmenere, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Merlot. It, too, was produced from biodynamically farmed grapes from the winery’s Los Robles estate. Purple-colored, it has an alluring nose of pain grille, scorched earth, spice box, black currant, blackberry, and blueberry. This leads to a medium to full-bodied wine with layers of savory flavor, succulent fruit, and enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years. With excellent concentration, depth, and balance, it should drink well from 2012 to 2020."
2005 vintage 92 Points: Jay Miller
