Tastebud tantaliser and seductress of the senses

Lar Veale (The Sunday Tribune & sourgrapes.ie). May 10

This is a real gem hidden away in O'Brien's shelves. It will tantalise the tastebuds and seduce the senses. Forget about the relatively unknown grape variety of St. Laurent, this is a seriously good wine, worthy of attention from serious wine lovers or anyone looking for something a little extra special. Savoury silky finish of an expensive northern Rhone with alluring delicate aromas of good Burgundy Pinot Noir - truly a fantastic wine and great with a mushroom risotto, roast lamb or duck. Blown away by it.

great wine for the wine lover

finally one of my favourite grapes comes to Ireland. After years of visiting Austria and drinking their wines the St laurent grape arrives at o'briens. We have sampled many of this particular grape;the good are very good the bad you just tip down the sink.Having tried this wine;its got great length and very fruit based;would make a great wine for food lovers;the grape actually comes from the pinot noir family;we tried it with lasagne and it went well;smooth and very refreshing;thanks to O'briens for taking a chance on this wine
