Grande Cuvee Dourthe Sauvignon

This is one of the most exhilarating, mouth-wateringly fresh Sauvignon Blancs hailing from Bordeaux. Made under the guidance of top white wine consultant Denis Dubourdieu who is also responsible for the famed Château d’Yquem, this wine will thrill. This 2007 is a beautiful crisp, lemony Sauvignon that cries out for fish/seafood starters.

101 Great Wines

"This classy effort offers more depth of flavour than many examples of Sauvignon Blanc at a similar price. Although juicy and bracing with attractiive herbal notes, it tastes of beautifully ripe grapes. Not something Bordeaux can always achieve!"

Decanter Magazine

""The 50 Best Value French Wines" - Dourthe is the region's most reliable, up-to-date négociant. Fine and fruity, perfect with oysters."

The Dubliner

"Musky white fruits mingle with pungent, grassy and pea pod garden scents. Livelier than the legs in Riverdance; a well choreographed attack of pithy grapefruit and lemony fruit flavours dance over the taste buds. Overall a mouth-watering and elegant wine at an excellent price. Try with stir-fried chicken strips, streaky rashers and asparagus spears in a nest of rice."
Liam Campbell - April 2009
