Viña Los Vascos
Viña Los Vascos
Colchagua Valley, Chile

Los Vascos is part of the family-owned Les Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) group, now under the stewardship of sixth generation, Saskia de Rothschild.

“Los Vascos” refers to the Basques origins of the first settlers to plant vines in Colchagua around 1750. The Colchagua Valley experiences a cool Mediterranean climate with warm summers cooled by ocean breezes and moderate rainfall. The soils are mainly sandy-clay and decomposed volcanic, with good drainage. The 640 hectare of vineyards is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon , Carmenére , Syrah, Malbec and Chardonnay. Sauvignon Blanc is grown in the cooler Casablanca region.

The winemaking expertise of the DBR Lafite family is obvious in the modern winery, where stainless steel and high-grade French oak are used by the team to craft elegant, concentrated wines.
