It's an exciting week here at O'Briens with our wonderful Spring Wine Festival running from Thursday to Saturday- what better way to beat this unseasonably (well maybe not in Ireland!) wet weather than taste over 280 wines by over 65 producers? As well as that we are in the last week of our French Wine Sale, with up to 42% OFF over 200 wines!
The O'Briens Wine Festival is the biggest and most eagerly awaited wine event on the Irish calendar and this year we have a record number of winemakers and wines in attendance. As well as these events, the French Wine Sale, with up to 42% Off up to 200 French wines, continues in-store. With all this activity going on you could be excused for missing a new stunning little wine that slipped on to our shelves last week- Château de Girard Cuvée Arthur.
This wine comes from the same producer as our customer-favourite Château Paraza, in the southern French region of Minervois. Soft and supple, this unoaked beauty is from certified sustainably-farmed vineyards. Made with the classic Languedoc blend of Grenache (40%), Syrah (40%) and Mourvèdre (20%) the bouquet is dominated by aromas of ripe black fruits. The palate is elegant and well-structured with silky tannins and a generous wash of red and black berry fruit flavours before a long finish with a touch of liquorice and herbal complexity.
Note that this is a vegan-friendly wine and would pair wonderfully with a range of vegetarian-based dishes, such as this Mushroom, Chestnut and Squash Filo pastry pie.
Please note: All prices correct at time of publication. For the most up to date prices please contact your local store or online www.obrienswine.ie.
The O'Briens Wine Festival is a strictly over 18s event. Spittoons and water are provided for your convenience and safety. Enjoy alcohol responsibly.
