O’Briens are excited to announce we will be teaming up with O Brother Brewing to make a new beer together.
O Brother Brewing is an intensely quality focussed, family owned and run business, set up by 3 brothers, Brian, Padhraig and Barry O’Neill. Barry says he sees similarities between O’Briens and O Brother with “both driven by passionate people with a desire to bring the best we can to our customers, and both doing everything we can to make an impact in the Irish craft beer world.”
One of the great things about the growth of craft brewing in Ireland is not only the fantastic beer being made here but the stories of those behind the beers. For the brothers it started with a passion for home brewing and after a light bulb moment they decided to break out form the 9 to 5 and dedicate themselves to something they were passionate about. What began with a 25 litre kit in their father’s shed has expanded to their own brewery in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow and after a lot of hard work their first beers left the brewery in December 2014.
Since then they have been building on their core range with some fantastic special releases and in total have produced 7 new beers, 3 core and 4 specials in their first year. With their emphasis on bold flavourful beers all have been very well received and O Brother have picked up numerous awards including Best Pale Ale at the Beoir All Ireland Beer Awards for The Chancer and more recently two awards at the Alltech Dublin Craft Beer Cup for The Chancer and The Sinner.
We are delighted to be teaming up with O Brother and are currently working on the recipe for our limited release collaboration brew. Expect to see it on the shelves of your local O’Briens stores this coming summer!
