Great news, our Irish Whiskey Sale has begun. We have a selection of fantastic Irish Whiskeys on offerrunning until Easter Monday 28th of March.
The recent revitalization in the distilling industry in Ireland has seen a number of smaller distilleries emerging to great success. One such is Glendalough Distillery set up in 2011 by 5 friends with years of experience in the drinks industry. Glendalough Distillery’s desire is to make innovative spirits while staying true to tradition and heritage.
And they have certainly done that with Glendalough Double Barrel, a single grain whiskey aged first in ex Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels and then finished in Oloroso Sherry casks. The result is a punchy grain Whiskey with Christmas pudding notes.
They also produce two excellent single malts. Glendalough 7 year old, which won a silver medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Awards, is double distilled and aged in first fill ex-Bourbon barrels resulting a well-rounded Whiskey with spicy, citrus and barley notes.
Glendalough 13 year old, a Gold medal winner at last year’s Irish Whiskey Awards, was originally meant to be released after 12 years aging but was matured for an extra year in honour of one of the shareholders in the company. A certain Irish rugby player who held the number 13 jersey. The resultant Whiskey is smooth complex affair best enjoyed neat or with just a drop of water to open up the aroma.
There are many more Whiskeys to discover in our Easter Irish Whiskey Sale, something for everyone.
