Happy smiling faces all around this week after the success of our fantastic events last November! As you might remember we held our Winter Wine Festivals last November in Cork and Dublin where we had over 60 winemakers fly in to Ireland for three days sampling over 250 wines to our customers .
While the 100 wines being showcased by our winemakers was the main attraction at the Cork Wine Festival, Jack, The Irish Guide Dog returned and stole the show for the second year in a row!
We were pleased to welcome Padraig Mallon , CEO of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind along with their brand ambassador Dog Jodie to our Douglas store this week to accept a cheque for €3,000 raised from our November wine festival in The Clayton Hotel , Cork.
Irish Guide Dogs for the blind offers a comprehensive suite of services which enable both blind and vision impaired persons and families of children with autism to achieve increased independence and an improved quality of life.
After a highly successful event in Cork on the Thursday evening, The 25 winemakers and O’Briens team continued on their journey to spend the next two days at the Dublin Wine Festival where they were joined by the rest of the winemakers and team!
During the weekend in Dublin, our chosen charity was The Jack and Jill Children's foundation and we were delighted to welcome Edelle Monahan and Deirdre Walsh of The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation to our Naas store yesterday to accept a cheque for €10,000.
The Jack & Jill Children’s foundation provides direct funding, to families of children up to the age of five who suffer severe intellectual and physical development delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care. We are thrilled to help provide their profoundly sick children with 625 hours of home nursing respite care after the success over the weekend at the Dublin Wine Festival.
We are extremely proud to support these wonderful causes and would like to thank all of our customers in both Dublin and Cork for supporting us at these events as well as the teams in Cork and Dublin for doing a great job in organising the event!
