Our Irish craft beer sale continues in full swing with 4 for the price of 3 across our full range of Irish craft beers and ciders. So, I decided to pick up a few for myself. You may find a theme in my selection, I’ve picked out 4 beers that might just turn you to the dark side.
First up Brethren Brown from the Midlands Beer Collective. The collective is an eleven-member group of award winning home brewers who have taken their combined knowledge and passion for craft to the next level with this their first commercial release. This is a brown ale in a decidedly ‘American’ style, plenty of malt character backed up with a kick of zingy citrus hops.
For my second beer I’ve picked another American Brown, 12 Acres Farmers Tan. Just like busses, you wait an age for one and then… This beer won 12 Acres a Gold Medal at the recent Alltech Dublin Craft Cup. The guys at 12 Acres were so pleased with the reaction to this beer that they have decided to make it part of their core range. Grapefruit and apricot hop notes meld with the rich caramel here.
Third on my list is a limited release from Rascals with a new take on their very popular Milkshake stout. This time it has received a little bit of a whisky hit from time aging in Bourbon barrels. The Bourbon Milkshake Stout adds an extra layer of sweet bourbon vanilla to this delicious sweet rich stout.
For my fourth beer, Wicklow Wolf Born ‘N Bread. I got this one free!! This beer marks the start of a new series of small batch limited releases from Wicklow Wolf, called The Endangered Species Brews. For this release they have produced an oatmeal stout with wholemeal flour and a ‘generous dollop’ of homemade marmalade! This does exactly what it says on the tin with plenty of bready and marmalade notes and a serious dollop of chocolate.
This is obviously just a small selection of beers available in stores and online, check out more here.
Please note prices are correct at time of publishing, the 4 for 3 offer ends Easter Monday, please check our website or stores for the most up to date pricing.
