There are quite a few Organic wines included in our September Wine Sale, so I thought now might be a good time to look at the category.
Once seen as a niche product, consumption of organic wine is now growing faster than that of conventional vintages.
Their success can be put down to the fact that many Organic producers are now making innovative and delicious wines as good as or better than anything made by conventional methods, and a growing awareness of the environmental consequences of conventional agriculture is making itself felt.
I have picked out just a few of my organic favourites below.
However it is not just the New World wineries going green, we are also seeing some great organic wines coming out of classic Old World regions as well, such as Château Peyronat from Bordeaux or Borie de Maurel Cuvée Luna from the Languedoc.
Some of these wines will sell out fast, so to be sure not to miss out why not pop in to your local store this weekend and pick up a bargain or two.
