If you are still unsure what to select as a mother’s day gift, then look no further, as we have the perfect choice all wrapped up at O’Briens.
One of the most recognised Champagne Houses in the world, Taittinger was originally founded in 1734 by Jacques Fourneaux. Today, it remains owned and managed by the Taittinger family - a rarity in the region for a producer of this size - and is run by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger.
Taittinger Brut Cuvée(€39.99 down from €62.00 ) is a supremely elegant Champagne and is virtually unique among the Grand-Marque Champagne houses for high proportion of Chardonnay in used in the blend for its non-vintage cuvée adding a natural elegance and creaminess to the wines rarely seen elsewhere at this price.
Once blended the wines are aged on their lees for a minimum of three years in Taittinger’s cellars before release adding further depth and complexity.
On the palate it is gently biscuity with notes of toasted brioche, crunchy pear and citrus notes all wrapped up in consistent, fine, lingering mousse with a long fresh finish.
This really is a significant step up from your average Non-Vintage blend!
