To whet your appetite I have picked out below just a few of the winemakers who will be flying in for the weekend.
Cantine Ascheri Giacomo: Very few Barolo estates can compete with the purity and elegance achieved by Matteo Ascheri. His wines have a grace and charm that is almost Burgundian. Minimal intervention is the practice here, Matteo believes strongly in letting the grapes and the soil speak for themselves and the results are astounding.
Musella: One of the Ten Amarone families, Musella are at the top of their game, Emilio Pasqua purchased this beautiful, ancient winery on the outskirts of Verona 15 years ago. His daughter Maddalena currently oversees the running of the property.
Rizzardi: A regular recipient of Tre Bicchieri (Italy's highest Wine honours) Giuseppe Rizzardi is a winemaker on fire at the moment. His Bardolinos are widely considered the best in the region and his whites have supreme elegance and balance.
Astrolabe: Simon and Jane Waghorn are familiar figures in wine fairs around the world when Simon is not up to his arms in grape juice they are representing their wines at every major market in the world. Widely acclaimed as one of New Zealand's finest winemakers Simon imbued his Astrolabe wines an almost cult status.
Man O'War: Man O’War is a family owned winery on Waiheke Island, off the coast of Auckland. Wine Maker Duncan McTavish concentrates on making wine from Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet. The warmer North Island ripens grapes that have a richness of palate but are perfectly balanced with acidity from the volcanic soils and cool sea breezes.
Delheim: Positioned high in the Simonsberg Mountains in Stellenbosch the Delheim estate makes wines that are unrivalled in South Africa for elegance and purity of fruit. Floral, aromatic whites and multi-layered, beautifully defined reds.
Bethany: Six generations of the Schrapel family have grown grapes in one of the finest spots in Australia's Barossa Valley. Current winemaker Geoff Schrapel has decades of experience behind him and his reds and whites are highly praised for their purity and elegance.
