  • The Craft Beer Sale Returns!

Following huge interest and enthusiasm for our last Craft Beer Sale, it’s back and this time it’s even bigger and better with something for everyone!

    Here’s some of the beers we’re stocking up on;

Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere 70cl Bottle

Southern Hemisphere is a south-by-north fusion that showcases the intriguing floral and herbal flavours and aromas of New Zealand-grown Southern Cross, Pacifica and Motueka hops. At 6.7%, this beer is far too easy to drink!

Trouble Brewing Dark Arts 50cl Bottle

A very unique porter, Dark Arts is bursting with coffee, chocolate and caramel flavours as a result of the complex malt profile. The hops complement the malt flavours for a beer that is smooth and well-balanced

    LeFevre Cidre 33cl Bottle

LeFevre Cidre is a natural cidre made on the borders of Normandy and Picardy. The cidre is best described as having a wondrous golden hue, with fine bright agile bubbles. This is the real deal and a must try for cider lovers.

    Beavertown Neck Oil 33cl Can

Based in London, Beavertown are giving us some really exciting, really solid beers and Neck Oil is no exception. Ripe citrus, juicy aromas sit on a crisp, pale malt backbone and at 4.3%, it's an all-day IPA!

White Hag Fionnabhair Wit Beer 33cl Bottle

A new addition to our range, White Hag Brewery is one to watch. White Hag Fionnabhair is a bittersweet, spicy Belgian style wheat beer. Lots of body and complex flavours in this one.

    Brewdog Nanny State 33cl Bottle

Brewing a full flavoured craft beer at 0.5% is no easy task but with a backbone of 8 different speciality malts, Nanny State will tantalise your taste buds and leave you yearning for more. For a low ABV beer, this complexity of this beer is a triumph.

    Barefoot Bohemian Pilsner 33cl Bottle

Bohemian Pilsner is just that; an unorthodox lager with complex biscuity malt, soft rounded bitnerness and a twist of spice from the noble Saaz and Hallertau hops. This crisp and adventurous drop is perfect bliss!

These are just some of the brews featured in our Craft Beer Sale but with the option to mix and match over 150 beers, there’s plenty of room for experimentation.

The sale will run until Sunday 21st December so don’t miss out!

  • Lynch-Bages - Come taste some wine!

If you are anywhere near the Beacon South Quarter in Sandyford and have a free half an hour I strongly urge you to pop into our Beacon Store. Instore tonight from 6-9pm a fantastic selection of fine wine will be on tasting - free of charge.

Florent Cazuax representing Domaines Jean-Michel Cazes will be pouring wines from the Cazes family estates ranging from L’Ostal Cazes - their stunning Minervois wines – through to their highly acclaimed Châteauneuf-du-Pape Domaine des Sénéchaux right up to Château Lynch-Bages itself. Along the way there is a chance to taste an Irish exclusive of their exceedingly rare, just released, “Pauillac de Lynch-Bages” (the Château wine’s youngest brother). Not forgetting the astounding, beautifully mature 1992 Château Cordeillan-Bages. A wine which at 20 years old is perfect proof of the impeccable ageing potential of fine Bordeaux.

If all of that still doesn’t float your boat the staff at the Beacon will be on hand to pour a sneak preview of our upcoming Fine Wine Sale.

Here Bordeaux features in the guise of Château Kirwan 2007 and Giscours 2008 and if Italy is your thing then great Barolo, Brunello and one of the finest ever Amarones will all be open. Just don’t forget to taste Tignanello before finishing up with Clos Du Val’s Iconic Stag’s Leap Cabernet.

However if you can’t be there Friday the staff at the Beacon will have all these wines on tasting again on Saturday from 1pm-6pm.

So whatever you are doing over the next 48 hours you could do worse than call by and enjoy a free and informal fine wine experience.
