The Espresso Martini was first created in London in the 1980s and has quickly become one of the most popular after-dinner cocktails with its bold blend of cold coffee, vodka and liqueur. This variation uses Absolut Vanilla to add another layer of complexity.
This cocktail set contains:
1x 70cl Absolut Vanilla Vodka
1x 70cl Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur
Absolut Espresso Martini Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 40ml Absolut Vanilla Vodka
- 20ml Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur
- 20ml Cold Espresso (make fresh in advance and allow to cool in the fridge)
- 10ml Simple Sugar Syrup*
Method:
Fill a cocktail shaker with plenty of large ice cubes. Add all the ingredients and shake vigorously until the outside of the cocktail shaker is icy cold to the touch (if not shaken vigorous/long enough, the cocktail will not have a creamy head).
Strain into a martini glass and serve straight up, garnished with 3 coffee beans.
*To make simple sugar syrup, dissolve 300g caster sugar in 150ml water over a low heat and allow to cool. Store in the fridge.
Did You Know: The Espresso Martini is not a true Martini, as it does not contain gin or vermouth?
