BBQ & Roasts

Description

Château Latour-Martillac is a Grand Cru Classé estate in Graves, just south of Bordeaux. Graves is famous for its deep gravel soils that help the grapes reach perfection. The 2016 vintage blends perfectly ripe Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged in 40% new French oak for 16 months, it has structure, finesse and has now developed a wonderful complexity. Decant it for a Sunday roast or a filet of beef for something truly special. It would make a wonderful gift for lovers of Bordeaux.

Tasting Note

The 2016 vintage has a lovely deep purple colour. A complex and elegant nose with ripe black fruit aromas (cassis liquor and black cherry), with delicate, spicy and floral notes. The palate is full, fleshy and dense. The tannins are both powerful and rounded, with sweet hints of cherry liqueur and liquorice. Good length on the finish with an incredible freshness.
