HEREThis 6 bottle case contains;
1x Guerrieri-Rizzardi Prosecco Spumante NV This brilliant extra-dry Prosecco is the perfect way to kick off your festivities, served as an aperitif or with a light starter. Made by the peerless old Rizzardi estate, this is a fully sparkling Spumante style. The ripe prickly pear and red grapefruit are perfectly framed by a fine crisp backbone of refreshing acidity.
1 x Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc Astrolabe is a family-run boutique winery, sustainably producing wines to express Marlborough’s varied terroir. This is a complex and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc, bursting with zesty citrus fruit, and defined herbal flavours. Perfect for smoked salmon or other seafood course.
1 x Domaine Naturaliste Chardonnay A slightly richer style of Chardonnay is a classic match for turkey. This delicious example is made by award-winning winemaker, Bruce Dukes on his estate in Western Australia's Margaret River. Expect mouth-watering grapefruit, red apple, lime and jasmine flavours, while the lees ageing and delicate oak adds texture and complexity.
1 x Leyda Pinot Noir Reserva Pinot Noir is another Chritmas Day classic, matching a wide range of dishes, from traditional turkey and ham, to the cheese course. This Reserva comes from the cool-climate Leyda Valley, located only 4 km from the Pacific Ocean, and is bursting with bright and crunchy cranberry and redcurrant flavours.
1 x Monte Real Gran Reserva This graceful Gran Reserva is made by the iconic Bodegas Riojanas. It is 100% Tempranillo and aged in oak barrels for up to 30 months, to gain complexity and structure before the wine is patiently aged in bo˝le for at least another 36 months. Black fruit, vanilla, baking spice and savoury elements from the oak ageing, all underpinned by balancing acidity. Perfect match for honey and clove glazed Christmas ham.
1 x Bethany Late Harvest Riesling Christmas wouldn't be complete without something sweet to round out your meal. This comes from very low yielding Riesling vines in Australia's Barossa Valley. The grapes are allowed hang on the vine long into the growing season to accumulate natural sugars and complexity of flavour. Chill in the fridge for an hour and serve alongside a cheeseboard or the classic Christmas pudding.
We are delighted to include this link to a video with O'Briens Wine Director Lynne Coyle Master of Wine, talking through her wine choices for the case, along with suggested food matches and a tasting note on each wine.
