Domaine Chanson

Burgundy, France

Domaine Chanson dates to 1750 and lies in the heart of Burgundy’s Beaune region. In 1999 the estate was sold to Champagne Bollinger and its 43 hectares are now managed by Vincent Avenel.

Chanson cultivate sites across some of the best Premiers and Grands Cru vineyards on Burgundy’s Côtes de Beaune. The marginal climate is cool continental, with cold winters and warm summers. The best vineyard sites are on south-facing slopes to ensure even and consistent ripening. The grapes cultivated are the two noble varieties of Burgundy - Pinot Noir for the red wines and Chardonnay for the whites.

Winemaker Jean-Pierre Gonfuron crafts wines in the best traditions of Burgundy: using hand-harvested grapes and ageing wines in French oak in the historic cellars at the Bastion de l’Oratoire at Chanson.
