Great people are at the heart of what we do and if you're enthusiastic, dynamic and looking for a new opportunity, get ready to raise a glass - you may just have found your dream job!
Irish and family owned, O'Briens Wine Beer Spirits started life as a grocery store in Bray, Co. Wicklow back in 1944, with the aim of bringing quality and value to its customers.
Since then we have grown to become the most successful and trusted wine retailer in Ireland. We employ over 250 people across 34 stores nationwide and in our support office in Sandyford, Dublin.
It's not just about wine - we're also home to over 500 world and craft beers. Not to mention a huge range of premium Irish and international gins and whiskeys as well as vodkas, rums and more!
Over the years we have developed close relationships with winemakers and import much of our range of more than 1,000 wines directly from over 180 wineries across the globe.
We pride ourselves on our excellent value and customer service, be it in-person or online, and love nothing more than bringing the world's best wines - and the stories behind them - to our customers.

Working with O’Briens is more than just a job, it’s a career with endless potential, from learning about wine to developing your retail and business skills, all while meeting great people along the way. Here, some of the O’Briens team share their growth stories and what they love most about their roles.
Part Time → Assistant Manager → Store Manager
“My favourite thing about working with O'Briens has changed with every new position. Working in the Vevay store in Bray, I loved working with the craft beer. Now in Carrickmines, wine has become my true passion and my favourite part of my job.
I love talking about wine. I love matching wine with food and talking to customers about pairing wines for their events.”
“I didn’t know wine was such a complex world when I started, and I've gone from knowing almost nothing about it to feeling I have a reasonably good knowledge now. There’s a great atmosphere in the store and the camaraderie between myself and my colleagues and our manager is really good. We have a good working relationship and there’s a strong social culture too.”
Part Time → Full Time → Assistant Manager → Store Manager
“One of the things I enjoy the most is the flexibility of the job and the challenges it brings. There is a lot of guidance from my bosses, who are very approachable, but I also have the freedom to make decisions regarding my branch. I’m a fan of so many wines that we sell - if you asked me to pick a favourite, I don't think I could!”
Part Time → Full Time → Assistant Manager → Store Manager
“Applying for a job in O'Briens is one of the best chances that I ever took. It’s not like anywhere that I've worked before. It's incredible that you can go somewhere that is flexible about your hours but also will provide training. You're learning while working and then it's completely up to you to decide if you want more. I'd advise jumping at the chance - wine is fantastic to learn about."
In three-year Trainee Manager role
“I was working in retail and wanted to progress but there were no opportunities, so I applied to O’Briens. They took a chance on me, agreeing to put me through a three-year business course, and my career has taken off! My favourite thing about O’Briens is the people. I feel valued as a person, not just an employee. If there’s an issue, I know I can ring people for help or advice, it’s amazing.”
