Italy is a versatile dark skinned grape that can be vinified into many styles ranging from juicy bright reds to rich, powerful and structured. The tannin profile is moderate and acidity is high which helps balance even the most powerful examples. Aromas and flavours of blueberry, cherry and plum underpinned by a savoury note are typical.
