Big Sky Wines was founded by Katherine Jacobs and Jeremy Corban in 2005. The winery is located in the Martinborough sub-region of Wairarapa, on the southern tip of New Zealand North Island.

Big Sky is based in the Te Muna Valley of Martinborough, which experiences a semi-Mediterranean climate and a long growing season with warm days and cool nights. This climate and deep gravel soils are ideal for growing Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Big Sky practice certified sustainable viticulture and are committed to using organic principles.

Winemaker Jeremy Corban is a fourth generation New Zealand winemaker from a family with over 100 years wine experience. His winemaking approach is minimum intervention to produce wines with a genuine sense of place.
