Founded in 1890, with over 100 years of winemaking history, Bodegas Riojanas is located in Rioja and farms over 100 hectares around the town of Cenicero.
In this part of Rioja, the climate is considered continental, with notable seasonal fluctuations. The vineyard plots of the Bodega are primarily composed of clay & limestone soils. Tempranillo is the main grape variety grown, though the property also cultivates Graciano, Mazuelo and others.
In the vineyard, hand-picking & manual pre-selection before crushing ensure optimum grape quality at harvest. Modern winemaking techniques in the cellar focus on authentically expressing the grape's characteristics.
Depending on the wine style, traditional ageing in either French or American oak reflects the heritage of both the Bodega & the Rioja region.
