Champagne Charles Heidsieck
Champagne, France

Charles Heidsieck was founded in 1851 by Charles Camille Heidsieck, who earned the moniker ‘Champagne Charlie’ for his tireless work in marketing Champagne around the globe. Based in Reims, it has always concentrated on quality over quantity.

Charles Heidsieck became known for its commitment to quality, selecting grapes from individual growers and ageing wines in ancient, impressive chalk cellars known as crayères, which date back to the Gallo-Roman era. These cellars are now part of the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The house emphasises precision, with each component wine vinified separately and given extended maturation to fully develop before release. Their Champagnes also contain a high percentage of reserve wines, some aged for up to 10 years. This approach ensures that Charles Heidsieck continues to produce complex and intriguing wines with depth and character.
