Château la Claymore
Château la Claymore
Bordeaux, France

Château La Claymore is a family-run estate in Lussac-Saint-Émilion, on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, producing Merlot-driven wines with depth and elegance.

Owned by the Linard family, Château La Claymore lies on limestone and clay soils typical of Lussac-Saint-Émilion, an appellation just north of Saint-Émilion. Its name comes from vineyards called Claymore, after the two-handed sword, a sign of Celtic presence in the distant past. Merlot is the dominant grape, producing wines with supple fruit and fine structure. Traditional Bordeaux methods are employed, with maturation in French oak. Their philosophy is to craft wines of finesse and depth that faithfully reflect the terroir.
