Dating back to 1457, Château Mauvesin was originally real fort with towers. In 2011, it was acquired by Lilian Barton Sartorius and her family, marking a new chapter in its long history. The Barton family, one of Bordeaux’s most respected wine dynasties, brought their deep expertise and commitment to quality to the property, renaming it Château Mauvesin Barton. They invested significantly in modernising the vineyards and winery, preserving the soul of the château while upgrading its facilities. Today, the estate consistently produces some of the best value Bordeaux wines for early enjoyment.
