Domaine du Chapitre Fleurie
Beaujolais, France

Domaine du Chapitre produces elegant, terroir-driven wines from the Gamay grape in the Beaujolais region of eastern France, north of Lyon. Their wines will appeal to those seeking lighter-style reds.

Domaine du Chapitre is a 35-hectare estate in La Chapelle de Guinchay. Its emblem, a dovecote at the heart of the vineyard, features on the label. The estate dates to the Middle Ages, when monks from Cluny Abbey pioneered viticulture here.

The Gamay grape thrives on granitic soils with shale & clay veins, where vineyard manager Jean-Pierre Mortet oversees cultivation. The plateau location ensures early ripening, while surrounding woods & meadows promote biodiversity. Views from the vineyard stretch across the Saône Valley to the Alps.

Hand-harvested grapes undergo traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks, then age for 6–10 months before bottling. The wines are elegant, with a silky, fruit-driven character. This fresher style of red is increasingly in demand.
