Foley Wines was founded in 1985 by Bill Foley. Their Vavasour winery was the first in the Awatere Valley sub-region of Marlborough. Today they make expressive Marlborough wines with true varietal character.
MEET THE WINEMAKERS
The climate in the Awatere Valley is a true Maritime climate, with the family’s winery only 3 miles from the coast. As this was the first winery in the Awatere region, it has some of the best sites, on free draining soils. The vineyards are sustainably farmed with Sauvignon Blanc the main variety.
Winemaker Stu Marfell uses minimal intervention in the winery to produce a range of easy-drinking wines that express the land from which they come.
