A Vaca Cuca Albariño is grown in Val do Salnés, the sub-region closest to the Atlantic and the traditional home of the Albariño grape. The fruit is picked by hand at night to preserve freshness, and time on lees adds weight and texture beneath the wine's greengage and citrus fruit. A long, saline finish reflects the vineyard's closeness to the sea. The name is a nod to village life in Galicia, where a cow called Cuca is a very common occurence, and the label plays on that local tradition.

Rubiejo Barrica Ribera del Duero moves inland to Castilla y León, where Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto Fino, is grown. Time in barrica gives the wine its structure, with dark berry fruit framed by toasty oak.
