Gérard Bertrand
Gérard Bertrand
Languedoc-roussillon, France

Gérard Bertrand has forged an international reputation for his championing of the Languedoc region and its wines. Passionate about the local grape varieties and culture of the region of his birth, his wines are familiar to many wine lovers.

Raised in the vineyards of Château de Villemajou, Gérard Bertrand inherited his passion for wine from his father, Georges Bertrand. After a successful rugby career, he took over the family estate and became a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in the South of France. His philosophy centres on respecting ecosystems and enhancing biodiversity.

Bertrand’s approach combines scientific rigour with spiritual awareness, producing wines that express terroir, energy, and emotion. By owning several estates across the region, he and his team can produce a wide range of wines that reflect the diverse terroirs of the Languedoc.
