Based near Villié-Morgon, Château Bellevue sits within the ten Beaujolais Crus. The estate's cellar was fully renovated in 2009, and its 24 hectares are worked with a parcel-by-parcel approach to highlight the character of individual Beaujolais terroirs.
The granite and schist soils of Beaujolais can give the wines a remarkable combination of structure and freshness that has led to a renewed demand for Beaujolais worldwide.
Gamay is the defining grape of the ten Beaujolais Crus, but its character changes considerably with each terroir. Château Bellevue's Fleurie vines grow in shallow granitic sandy soils. The Cru of Fleurie is celebrated for its perfume and finesse. Winemaker Elodie Rousselot’s Fleurie has rich and round black fruit balanced by silky tannins.
