Maison LaChateau produces fresh, modern wines in Haut-Poitou, a Loire Valley appellation known for its expressive and elegant Sauvignon Blanc.
Situated just north of Poitiers, Haut-Poitou has long viticultural traditions, but the appellation was revitalised in the late 20th century with a focus on quality and a distinctive Loire character. The vineyards are located in the north of Poitiers, where the vines are planted on plots of the best soils and the hillsides the best exposed to the sun. The cooler climate and limestone-rich soils provide excellent conditions for Sauvignon Blanc.
