Description
Altano Rewilding from the Douro Valley is an environmental conservation project between the Symington Family winery and Rewilding Portugal. The card bag-in-tube format 2.25 litres contains the equivalent of three bottles and is easily recyclable, and has a much lower carbon footprint than the equivalent volume in glass. From the certified Symington Family Estates comes this smooth and well-balanced table wine blend of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca. It's a fundraising collaboration with Rewilding Portugal, so part of what you spend helps to foster a 120,000-hectare wildlife corridor in the Douro mountains of northern Portugal. The wine is simple enough but thoroughly moreish, with smooth tannins and some fresh acidity giving structure to softly spiced red and blue fruits. Lovely solo or with grilled veg and meat.
