This wine comes from high altitude vineyards in the foothills of the Andes mountains. The dry climate and stony soils are ideal for growing high-quality Malbec grapes. The fruit is picked in two separate passes through the vineyard- the first pass chooses the young vibrant fruit, giving freshness to the wine. The second pass picks the fully ripened grapes to lend richness and body. 75% of the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, the remainder is aged in 2,500 litre Italian foudre. These large oak vats allow a small amount of controlled oxidation without adding too much wood influence.
