Dating back to 1852, Marqués de Murrieta is family owned and considered to be among the finest examples of Spain's most celebrated wine region. The Castillo Ygay is made from grapes sourced from La Plana, a 40-hectare, single vineyard planted in 1950 and located on a plateau at the highest point of Finca Ygay 485 metres above sea level. The wine is made from 85% Tempranillo and 15% Mazuelo and shows and elegant range of aromas and flavours with strawberry, raspberry, clove and nutmeg and hints of tea leaves, fine leather and graphite, the tannins are velvety and refined.

Marqués de Murrieta, located in Spain’s Rioja Alta, has been owned by the Counts of Creixell since 1852. The 300 hectares of vines is currently run by Count Vicente Cebrián-Sagarigga and his sister, Cristina.
