Description

Château Phélan Ségur farms sustainably in Saint-Estèphe, close enough to the Atlantic that the sea air keeps the fruit fresh and precise year after year. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the backbone, and for the first time this vintage they're joined by Petit Verdot, planted back in 2013 and now mature enough to add depth and lift to the blend. The result is a wine built for the long game: pour it now with slow-roasted lamb, or set a few bottles aside and let those tannins soften over the next decade.

Tasting Note

Château Phélan Ségur 2020 has a fresh nose of layered fruit and floral notes. Perfectly balanced with a precise, finely sculpted structure, it is subtly fleshy and dense, with finely woven tannins and a long, radiant finish.

Founded in the late 18th century by Irishman Bernard Phélan in the Left Bank Bordeaux commune of Saint-Estèphe. The 70 hectare property is now owned by the Gardinier family and managed by Phillppe Van de Vyvere.
