Description

The estate of Disznókő, which dates back to 1732 takes its name, The Rock of The Boar, from a large stone overlooking the property. Owned since 1992 by AXA Millésimes, it has benefited from major investments in the vineyards, winery and a new wine ageing cellar which was built into the rock. Furmint is an indigenous grape variety that makes fruity and mineral wines that can be very long lived.

Tasting Note

A unique grape, off the beaten track, Disznóko Dry Furmint is fruity, intense, and mineral with ripe apple notes.

A key ingredient in the great dessert wines of Tokaji, Furmint is also used to make some very good dry white wines. Typically they have a lovely combination of textured fruits and pronounced acidity. The Disznóko is light to medium bodied, with berry attractive refreshing apricot and pear fruits. Try it with sushi, sashimi or a burrata-and-tomato salad.
