As the garden starts to come in to bloom, our thoughts shift towards dining al fresco with a good BBQ. So, to help you with your wine selection this BBQ season, our Wine Team have chosen six exciting wines, perfect to match with full-flavoured grilled foods. Choosing from 6 of our top partners, we have tried to show grape, regional & climatic diversity in our selection.

In this case, you will receive one bottle of each of the following wines:
1. Bodegas Riojanas Borisa Reserva, Rioja Spain
Coming from Bodegas Riojanas, this 100% Tempranillo was made in limited quantities to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the estate. The grapes come from premium Cenicero Rioja vineyards in La Rioja Alta. Elegant and harmonious on the nose with fine aromas of dark fruit and vanilla. The palate offers good fruit structure, fine acidity and polished tannins with a balanced persistent finish.
2. S&R Tinto, Douro Portugal
The name of this wine refers to the two top Portuguese winemakers that collaborated in producing it- Domingos Soares Franco & Joâo Portugal Ramos. It comes from the Douro Valley in Portugal, famous for its Ports, but also recognised for the exceptional quality of its still red wines.
3. Cave Saint-Desirat Syrah, Vin de France
Cave Saint-Desirat is a 350-member co-operative that was established in 1960. Their modern cellar combines state-of-the-art equipment with traditional winemaking techniques. 100% Syrah, this is beautifully balanced, with the medium-body and silky elegance found in the northern Rhône, but with the pure black berried fruit profile and warming peppery spice typically found in wines from the southern Rhône.
4. Bellow’s Rock Age Before Beauty Shiraz, South Africa
Made by three good friends in the beautiful Agter-Paarl region of South Africa, this is an elegant, black-berried Shiraz, with a decidedly more European feel compared to previous vintages. But it still boasts ripe, black-berried fruit, sweet, liquorice spice and smooth tannins: a deliciously easy-drinking wine.
5. Château de Girard Cuvée Arthur, Languedoc France
From Château de Paraza, this is a soft and supple unoaked Minervois from certified sustainably farmed vineyards. Made with a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre the bouquet is dominated by aromas of black fruits. The palate is elegant and well-structured with silky tannins and a generous wash of red and black berry fruit flavours before the long finish with a nice touch of liquorice complexity.
6. Penfolds Koonunga Hill Seventy-Six Shiraz-Cabernet, South Australia
The Penfolds Koonunga Hill range has always aimed to deliver quality, value, and consistency, produced from sustainably farmed grapes, this is a multi-regional blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, concentrated aromas of blackberry, cassis and hints of sweet vanilla. The rich full palate shows layers of dark fruit and touches of peppery spice all balanced with bright acidity.
