Description

Geal Albariño is made by O’Briens Wine Director Lynne Coyle MW and the family-owned Lagar de Costa winery in Rías Baixas, Spain where 50-year-old single vineyard Albariño vines grow on the Atlantic shoreline. Hand-picked from traditional pergolas, and following a wild yeast fermentation, the wine was aged on lees in a single concrete egg for eight months, bringing complexity and depth. Light and refreshing with a lingering saline note, this is a perfect wine to pair with seafood.

Tasting Note

Geal Albariño is dry, refreshing, and lightly textured with green fruit notes, a hint of white peach and a lingering salinity making it an ideal wine for seafood.

The Irish Sun

This Irish-Spanish collaboration is crafted by Lynne Coyle MW at O’Briens, and Sonia Costa of Bodega Lagar de Costa, the family-owned vineyard in Rías Baixas. The fruit comes from vines in sandy soils right next to the sea. The hand-picked fruit is vinified with wild yeasts and aged on its lees for eight months. The resultant wine has great complexity, with green apple, peach, citrus notes and with a wonderful, lingering, saline length. Enjoy with: A joy with all kinds of seafood.
