Description
Henri Bourgeois cultivated a few hectares of vines in the heart of Chavignol in Sancerre, ten generations of family winegrowers later, this family business are at the forefront of quality Sancerre growing in the area. Sancerre La Bourgeoise is made from old Sauvignon Blanc vines which grow on flinty soils, giving wines with great minerality, intensity and excellent ageing potential. La Bourgeoise is aged for 7-8 months in Tronçais forest oak barrels allowing for periodic hand stirring of the lees giving complexity and richness. The multi-award winning La Bourgeoise Sancerre is rich and full bodied with flinty and spice notes and a delicate touch of hawthorn blossom, it can age for 10 – 12 years.
