Description

Viognier tends to be associated with premium southern French wines but this one comes from Lastarria, one of the trendiest barrios (neighbourhoods) in Santiago, Chile. Fruity and aromatic with notes of peach and quince, it's balanced with a fresh acidity and a touch of oak. One for Viognier fans to check out.

Tasting Note

A complex nose of fresh fruits like apricot, peach and quince. On the palate fruity notes, with silkiness and freshness is balanced with medium levels of acidity and subtle hints of oak.

With a price tag that belies its quality, this 100 per cent Viognier from the Colchagua Valley has evocative floral aromas and a flurry of fresh apricots and peaches. The region's granitic soils (also found in northern Rhône) help to preserve ample acidity, making this clean, fresh and crisp with notes of juicy ripe fruit. Fantastic value for money, it should be enjoyed well chilled with some roasted vegetables or spicy chicken fajitas.
