BBQ & Roasts

Description

With barrels dating back to 1631, Bodegas Baron represent one of the oldest wineries in Jerez. The Xixarito label is a collage of the life of Jose Rodriguez, former owner of the winery, presided over by an elephant, his favorite animal, whose eye is copied from his, as is the hand that holds a catavino (sherry glass). With an average of 20 years ageing in solera, this is an intense, smooth yet saline expression, quite unique to other Oloroso wines.

Tasting Note

A powerful and complex Oloroso with roasted and nutty aromas reminiscent of cedar and tobacco. Pronounced, smooth and structured on the palate with walnut power alongside notable spice and earthy tones suggestive of truffles and leather. Ideal for pairing with game meat, Asian or spicy Mexican food.
