This is a great-value introduction to Zinfandel’s charms: intense with cherry pie and blackberry jam fruit notes and dark chocolate richness but beautifully balanced thanks to juicy acidity and silky tannins. Both Lodi and Sonoma County are premium regions for Zinfandel thanks to dry-farmed old vines that give grapes with great concentration – and Ravenswood is a well-respected producer.
