Teeling's Wonder of Wood series highlights the impact that different types of casks impart on whiskey. The fourth edition uses virgin Carpathian Oak, sourced from the ancient forests of the Carpathian Mountains, where the cold climate produces timber with an unusually tight grain and naturally high tannin levels.
The whiskey itself is a Single Pot Still, made from equal parts malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled at Teeling's Dublin distillery on Newmarket Square. Bottled at 50% ABV with no chill filtration to keep the full flavour of the whiskey.
Each release in the Wonder of Wood series is made in partnership with the Tree Council of Ireland, with a portion of proceeds going toward planting native Irish tree species on a dedicated acre of land.
A whiskey for those who want to understand how timber shapes flavour. Best enjoyed neat or with a small drop of water to open it up.
No minimum order and if you spend €100 or more we'll deliver your order for free anywhere in Ireland.
