Château Lynch-Bages
Château Lynch-Bages
Bordeaux, France

Chateau Lynch-Bages was named for Thomas Lynch, whose father emigrated from Galway in 1691. Today the iconic estate is owned by the Cazes family and is draped across 90ha of the best vineyards in the prestigious Pauillac appellation.

Château Lynch-Bages is located in the prestigious Pauillac appellation on Bordeaux ’s Left Bank of the Gironde River. The estate was elevated to the status of Fifth Growth in the famous 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Pauillac is located between the communes of Saint-Estèphe and Saint-Julien in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux. Its close proximity to the Atlantic coast gives it a classic oceanic climate, with warm summers, mild winters and high rainfall throughout the year. The vineyards are farmed sustainably and planted on well-drained gravel soils with the black grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot , Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

In 2020 the estate opened their brand new, state-of-the-art winery: a project that took 4 years to complete. Under the supervision of owner, Jean-Charles Cazes, and General technical manager, Daniel Llose, Château Lynch-Bages crafts some of the most iconic wines in Bordeaux: Château Lynch-Bages and Echo de Lynch-Bages.
