Château Vieux Pourret
Château Vieux Pourret
Bordeaux, France

Château Vieux Pourret is a small, family-owned estate in Saint-Émilion, which is in the process of converting to Biodynamic viticulture.

Located just outside the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, Château Vieux Pourret is rooted in limestone and clay soils that give structure and elegance to its wines. The estate is converting to Biodynamic viticulture, with the philosophy that healthy vines and soils are essential to true terroir expression. Merlot is the dominant grape, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, yielding supple, aromatic wines with depth and finesse. In the cellar, traditional methods are combined with careful modern practices, including fermentation in temperature-controlled vats and ageing in French oak. The small-scale, hands-on approach allows close attention to each vintage. Today, Château Vieux Pourret is admired for wines that embody Saint-Émilion’s classic character while highlighting a sustainable, artisanal vision of Bordeaux.
