Domaine de L'Ostal

Languedoc, France

Domaine de L’Ostal, owned by the Cazes family of Château Lynch Bages, is located at La Livinière in the Minervois, France. The estate farms 85 hectares of vineyards and olives.

The Domaine de L’Ostal estate is named after the ancient Occitan word for house. The climate in the area is Mediterranean with a warm sunny dry summer. The limestone and sandy soil vineyards are planted with Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Syrah.

The vineyards are located at the foothills of the Montagne Noir which is considered an ideal micro-climate for grape growing as the grape aromas benefit from cool nights and retain acidity which leads to an elegance and purity in the final wines.

The wines are vinified at the XIX Tuilerie Saint Joseph where the winemaking is led by Delphine Glangetas. Delphine sees herself as a facilitator to nature, her focus being to showcase the individual grapes within the context of the estate and the region.
