Annual Wine Sale
carignan, grenache, mourvèdre / monastrell, shiraz / syrah
15%
savoury

Description

Made by the JM Cazes family, who also own the prestigious Château Lynch-Bages estate in Bordeaux, this is a serious wine. It has a wealth of ripe bramble fruit, subtle sweet oak spice and that typical herbal 'garrigue' character that defines the best Minervois wines. An extremely polished wine that thoroughly deserves its glowing reviews from the wine press.

Tasting Note

Coming from the heart of Minervois in the Languedoc, it is richly textured with a wealth of bramble fruit and sweet spice from ageing in high-grade French oak.

This is a bargain in my opinion. I adore Minervois and rank the best of it with Saint-Chinian (I often prefer its more lush tones). Owned by the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages this is mainly Syrah (60%) plus Grenache and Carignan with spice and dark fruits on the palate with peppery plums and berries.
