Rías Baixas is located on the eastern coast of Galicia and the family’s vineyards run down to the Atlantic Ocean, giving a cool maritime climate, with warm wet summers and mild winters. Rainfall can be as high as the west coast of Ireland, so the vines are trained up tall granite pergolas to allow drying sea breezes to blow through the vineyards in the humid summers. The estate solely grows the local Albariño grape variety.
Winemaker Sonia Costa uses stainless steel, oak and concrete egg to produce wines that best express their unique coastal vineyards, whilst retaining the typical saline freshness of the Salnés Valley.
