The arrival of Spring is the perfect time to pop open my first Beaujolais of the season. Fleurie, known for wines that are elegant and fragrant, is one of the ten crus which produce the most distinctive, complex, and age-worthy wines in this French wine region where the Gamay grape flourishes. This fine example is a bright ruby colour, with the nose releasing notes of blackcurrant and strawberry, followed by floral aromas. The palate offers up lots of ripe strawberry fruit, nice acidity, and a little savoury note on the finish. Enjoy with: Roast pork lunch.
