Description
Enate was founded in 1991 in the Somontano DO, located in the foothills of the Pyrenees in northern Spain. The winery pairs winemaking with contemporary art, with each bottle carrying a different work by a commissioned artist. They now hold 400 originals, making it one of the most important contemporary art collections in Spain.
The name Somontano means at the foot of the mountains, where conditions make it well suited to vine-growing. The cool evenings contribute to the freshness of the grapes, resulting in expressive wines with great acidity and minerality.
The Enate Tapas Tempranillo has the rich fruit and balancing acidity that makes it ideal with food. It will naturally pair well with tapas style dishes.
Tasting Note
Wonderfully expressive of its variety, this wine exudes bright red cherry and blackberry fruit along with notes of ripe strawberry, hints of caramel and sweet spice. The generosity of the fruit is framed by fresh acidity and silky smooth tannins, resulting in a very satisfying and versatile red.
